Pallet positions on the floor = pallets ÷ rack levels. Each position needs its footprint (a standard 1.2 × 1.0 m pallet) times an aisle factor of about 2–2.5× for forklift aisles and cross-aisles. Add dock, staging and office space as a percentage.
