Privacy policy
This policy explains what information CalcHub (โweโ, โthe siteโ) collects when you use it, why, and the choices you have.
1. What you enter into calculators
The numbers you type are sent to our server only to calculate your result. We do not store them unless you are logged in and choose Save result. We log which calculator was used (for example โfinance/emiโ), but not the values you entered.
2. Visit statistics (first-party analytics)
To understand which tools are useful we record each page view: the page visited, device type, browser and operating system, referring website, and an approximate country (from a network header, an IP-to-country database or your browser language). Your IP address is never stored โ only a one-way hash that lets us count unique visitors. We also record search terms typed into the site search box and basic events such as sign-ups. Crawlers and bots are flagged and excluded from the statistics.
3. Accounts
If you create an account we store your name, email address and a securely hashed password (we cannot read your password), plus the calculations you save and your favourite calculators. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and Google account identifier with us for this purpose only; we never receive your Google password. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.
4. Cookies and local storage
- Essential: a session cookie keeps you logged in and protects forms against forgery.
- Preferences: your browser's local storage remembers favourites, recently used calculators and similar settings. It stays on your device.
- Third-party: described below.
5. Third-party services
- Google Analytics measures site usage and may set cookies. See how Google uses data.
- Google Tag Manager loads measurement tags that we configure.
- Google reCAPTCHA protects the log-in and sign-up forms from bots and is subject to Google's privacy policy and terms.
6. How we use information
To run and improve the calculators, keep the site secure, prevent abuse, let you save your work and (where enabled) show advertising. We do not sell your personal information.
7. Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help run the site (hosting, email delivery, analytics, advertising), when the law requires it, or to protect the site and its users.
8. Retention and security
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Anonymous visit statistics are kept in aggregate form. We use HTTPS, hashed passwords and access controls, but no system is perfectly secure.
9. Your choices and rights
You can use the site without an account, clear cookies and local storage in your browser, and request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under the GDPR or California under the CCPA) you may have additional rights; contact us to exercise them.
10. Children
The site is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
11. Changes
We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest revision. See also our Terms of use.
12. Contact
